Water shut-off in light oil wells using AICV® technology

The case study shows the impact of AICV® in a field traditionally developed with barefoot wells, plagued by high water cut and early water breakthrough affecting 40% of inactive strings.

The operator was facing challenges of preserving cost-effective oil production (2.6 cP) due to increased water-related complications.

Through reservoir analysis and sensitivity optimization the AICV® technology was tuned to the unique conditions of each well, ensuring a seamless deployment without QHSE incidents.

Two horizontal barefoot wells were selected as candidates for a retrofit design with AICV® joints. The AICV® was optimized using well data and a detailed workflow. The results showed dramatic improvements in water cut reduction and oil production increase.
